Its a lovely little apartment with clean rooms, fresh linens and very spacious as well. Bathrooms were spacious and very clean with toiletries. The caretaker was amazing and she took care of all our needs and customized our breakfast as we requested. Very sweet lady

We just got back from a wonderful stay in Rome. Fabricio and his staff are very nice and helpful! The rooms are nice and the bed is comfortable. It’s our first time trying a B&B and definitely not our last time. We loved the eggs that Fabricio’s mother made for us for breakfast and also the orange juice, all though the rest of the breakfast might needed a little more variation. But overall we loved our stay at La fate apartments, thank you.

Its a crowded part of Rome which is noisy by motorbikes and big trucks. Its cosy and comfortable with not a bad location with about 10min walk to the station. The room did not had too many sockets and was a little small.

Disappointing - in Rome stay in the centre, not here!

I do not understand why this place receives good reviews. Yes, the owner is very amicable and he has put effort into decorating the place. But it falls short on everything else. The bedding & sheets are cheap and in bad shape, they did not seem to wash clean any longer. Bedding & pillows were cheapest IKEA. Bed was very uncomfortable (it lacked a pillow-top). On their website they claim that they have a gourmet breakfast prepared by a chef. None of those words can be applied to what I was served. The breakfast is not a “typical Italian breakfast” either, as claimed by the manager in a reply to a review. I’ve had one and it looks nothing like the one served here! Le Fate serves pre-packaged, dry crackers, cheap & sweetened orange-juice. It’s all 100% processed food. I was offered toast, it was small pieces of a burned baguette. There was a jar of cookies “baked by Ms xx for our guests” but they were store-bought cookies (there was a pack of them in the cupboard...). It’s nice to offer cookies, but don’t make up a story about how they are homemade when clearly they are not. Its just condescending. And if that jar once contained homemade cookies then change the note. The toilet was not working properly (there was a special way you had to press so that it would flush). The toilet was LOUD 24/7. I could hear it to my bedroom. The bathroom was a bit iffy in general, the shower/bath was dirty and there was no rail for the showerhead. Extremely unconvinient. The room was big and decorated in a relaxed country-style. Nothing bad about that. What bummed me the most was the location. The place I was staying at was very far from the center of Rome. You had to take a tram. It’s a 7-10 minute walk from the flat to the tram, then you wait for the tram and the tram took about 20 minutes. I had stayed at a different location in Rome (for work) earlier that same week and had really enjoyed walking around the city. Rome is fantastic because it’s a nice city to walk in. All sights are close to each other and the city is filled with palazzos, small gardens, statutes etc. It’s a nice city to explore also by just walking around without a timetable etc. Sure you can do it from a distance, but it leaves out all the spontaneity from it if you have a tram to catch. I also do not recommend this place if you have a lot of luggage and are not moving around by taxi (not a great idea due to traffic). It’s quite a haul from the tram stop and it’s not a straight road and there is a long staircase in the middle of the route. It took a lot of blood, sweat & tears to get my stuff up and down those stairs. Plus it’s a moderately hilly area, so even if you are told that it’s a short walk from the tram stop, it really isn’t. The walls and floors/ceilings are very thin. And this is a normal apartment building with normal non-vacation people living upstairs and downstairs. Keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper and want ultimate relaxation. I was woken up early in the morning by the upstairs neighbor vacuuming. See, that doesn’t happen at a real hotel. You should also know that someone lives permanently in one part of the flat (I stayed at a place with, I believe, two B&B rooms and the rest was administration and the home of an older relative of the manager. This is also not mentioned on the site. All the exaggerations about how good this place is just add on to the disappointment. You expect something truly good, but are met with below average. I’ve seen that the managers of this place have a tendency to reply to bad reviews with counter-arguments. It actually kept me from reviewing this place for a while. My message to you is this: your place does not get better by ostracizing and criticizing those who give you bad reviews. We are entitled to opinions of a service you are selling. You just have to do better.
